Jessica Catalan

My name is Jessica and I am a VFX artist with over 6 years in the industry, currently based in the New York City Metropolitan Area. I graduated from the School of Visual Arts in NYC with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Computer Art, Computer Animation, and Visual Effects in 2018. My thesis film, “Mirrors”, made in collaboration with co-directors, Sunhea Sara Oh and Yilyn Ng, has been the recipient of the following:

During my studies, I freelanced as a Nuke compositor and after graduating I launched my feature film career as a matte painter for Ben is Back (2018), but left NYC to pursue a role as a Houdini FX Artist/TD in Montreal for MPC, Mikros Animation, MR. X and Dneg, where I contributed to a diverse range of projects in feature film, feature animation, and episodic.

Additionally, I had the opportunity to work at Lockheed Martin’s Space division, creating 3D work for branding and visualization for cutting-edge space technology projects.

I am currently freelancing while remaining open to full-time opportunities.
